On a clear, cool afternoon State Representatives David Labriola (R-131) and Rosa C. Rebimbas (R-70) volunteered their time and rang the Salvation Army bell outside the Naugatuck Wal Mart to raise money for the community this holiday season.

They collected donations in the red Salvation Army kettle and greeted shoppers and visitors outside outside the Naugatuck Wal-Mart on Wednesday, December 14th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. During their shift hundreds of people made their way past the kettle to offer their support, say hello or drop spare change into the bucket.

Last year, during a similar hour of bell-ringing, Reps. Rebimbas and Labriola collected $121.63 which Wal-Mart matched with a dollar-for-dollar contribution to The Salvation Army that brought the total for the hour to $243.26.

Totals for this year’s collection have not yet been tabulated.
