HARTFORD State Representatives David K. Labriola (R-131), Cindy Harrison (R-69)  and State Senator Eric Berthel (R-32) are asking the community to join them as they roll up their sleeves and give blood during an American Red Cross Blood Drive in Southbury on Monday, November 22.

“Whether this will be your first donation or you are a regular donor, join us to make this blood drive a success,” Rep. Harrison said. “Your donation will help to save lives.”

“The need for blood is constant, and every donation helps,” Rep. Labriola said. “This event is a great opportunity for us all to give back to our community.”

“It’s important to lend a hand when we have an opportunity, and this very small sacrifice of your time will go a long way for someone in need of lifesaving blood. I’ll be donating blood and I hope to see everyone there,” Senator Berthel said.

According to the Red Cross, the entire process takes about one hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average. Restrictions due to weight, health or travel may apply and donors are urged to check their eligibility beforehand by going to https://www.redcross.org/give-blood.html or by contacting a local chapter.
