On Friday Rep. Labriola participated in the House and Senate Republican unveiling of the party’s 2012 legislative priorities at a press conference in Hartford. The caucus will again try to put Connecticut’s fiscal house in order as the state’s constitution requires the legislature to focus on budgetary, revenue and financial matters in this year’s “short” session.

A PowerPoint overview of the agenda can be found here. Top priorities include budget fixes, job creation initiatives, education reform and government transparency. Rep. Labriola emphasized that the budget must be balanced responsibly, meaning no spending increases, strict adherence to the state’s constitutional spending cap and no new taxes.
