OXFORD – On October 26, State Rep. David Labriola (R-Oxford, Naugatuck & Southbury) grabbed a shovel and lent a hand during STIHL Northeast’s ground breaking ceremony in Oxford. When the new distribution site opens in fall 2016, work will move from this leading chainsaw producer’s current location in Shelton to the corner of Hawley Road and Christian Street in Oxford.

“I am pleased to welcome STIHL to Oxford, which will be an economic boost and bring new jobs to our town and to the entire region,” said Rep. Labriola.

Andreas Stihl designed and hand built the first chain saw in 1926. Shortly after, he founded a manufacturing company –  STIHL – which is still owned today by his descendants. For more information, please visit www.stihlusa.com.
