The Naugatuck legislative delegation of State Representatives David K. Labriola and Rosa C. Rebimbas, and State Senators Joan Hartley and George Logan, met with Ron Pugliese, of the Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation, and Naugatuck Mayor Pete Hess at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford on Wednesday, February 15, before he testified in support of SB 301 and SB 384 before the Transportation Committee. Mayor Hess and the delegation support SB 301 and SB 384 which, if implemented, will require the Department of Transportation to increase the number and frequency of trains, and expand commuter rail services on the Waterbury branch line of the Metro North Railroad. During his testimony, Mayor Hess predicted that more frequent train service will promote economic development, brings jobs to the Valley and raise property values.
