Organization Cites Labriola’s Record on Measures Impacting the Business Community

HARTFORDRep. David Labriola has received the top legislative rating from Jobs for Connecticut Now, a coalition dedicated to promoting greater economic growth and employment throughout the state.

Labriola, who represents the 131st District, received a grade of ‘A’ for his supportive positions on legislative measures having a positive effect on Connecticut’s business community and its ability to spur economic development and employment growth.

Jobs for Connecticut Now (JCTN) based its evaluation on an analysis of key votes taken by state legislators over the past two years on a variety of bills that received full floor votes in both the House and Senate. The bills, which included the creation of economic development zones, establishing a Connecticut jobs task force, and expediting agency permits to allow businesses to grow, were deemed by JCTN to be crucial to the growth of the economy and employment in the state and also received full floor votes in both the House and Senate.

A full list of the bills examined and how all legislators were graded is available at the JCTN website, www.jobsfornewenglandnow.org

Jobs for Connecticut Now (JCTN) is a local project of Jobs for New England Now, which brings together business leaders, pro-business groups, and non-profit organizations from across the six-state region to promote a more collaborative approach between government leaders and the business community to spur economic development and job growth in the state.  Most recently, JCTN hosted a gubernatorial forum at the Hartford Business Expo, which brought together the leading gubernatorial candidates of each party to discuss ways to improve the business outlook of Connecticut. The event was hosted by CNBC’s Ron Insana.
