HARTFORD – The House Chamber of the Capitol was buzzing with people on February 3 as legislators and guests celebrated the opening of another Legislative Session. In attendance was State Rep. David Labriola (R-131), who represents Naugatuck, Oxford and Southbury.

This three month “short” session occurs biannually and only allows proposed bills related to budgetary, revenue and financial matters to be considered. Committee chairmen, on the other hand, can submit bills to be considered on any subject.

During the ceremony, Reps. Labriola and Rosa C. Rebimbas introduced Naugatuck residents Catherine Ernsky, business owner and Vice Chair of the CT Permanent Commission of the Status of Women (PCSW), and Kim Kiernan, Chairwoman of the Naugatuck Republican Committee, to the House of Representatives.
