State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105) last week proudly accepted the Mental Health Champion award from the Connecticut Association of Marriage and Family Therapy for her work to improve mental health among Connecticut residents during the 2023 legislative session.

Rebecca Ruitto, President of Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CTAMFT), and Jamie Rodriguez, Legislative Chair, presented Rep. Klarides-Ditria with the award at her legislative office.

“The public health committee members, and my colleagues in the legislature, work diligently to make sure there are proper supports in place for residents who are experiencing a mental health crisis, marital or family-related crisis, or who need ongoing assistance and I am proud to be recognized for having a role in making Connecticut a safer, more accepting place for everyone,” Rep. Klarides-Ditria, Ranking Member of the Public Health Committee said.

The Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy is the local division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, an international professional organization founded in 1942. CTAMFT represents more than 1,500 Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in Connecticut, as well as many associate licensed and student members.

CTAMFT is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of families, couples, individuals, and businesses through the advancement of the profession and practice of marriage and family therapy in the state of Connecticut.
