Collecting for C.A.R.E.S.

Animal lovers State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105), co-chair of the legislature’s Animal Welfare Caucus, and Seymour First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis teamed up for an incredibly successful one-day pet food donation drive held at the Seymour Stop & Shop on Sunday January 28^th.

For more than two hours, Nicole and Annmarie talked with dozens of shoppers, and residents who came out specifically to contribute, who stopped to donate food, supplies and money to help.  The response was fantastic and the generous donations will directly benefit Coco’s Animal Rescue Efforts of Seymour (C.A.R.E.S.) and other local shelters.  In a little more than two hours, they collected hundreds of pounds of food, blankets, cleaning supplies and cash donations.

For food, C.A.R.E.S. said they could specifically use:

• Purina ONE Kitten dry
• Purina ONE Kitten wet
• Iams sensitive stomach and skin adult dry
• Purina ONE adult wet PATE only (we have picky cats)
• Fancy Feast adult wet PATE any flavor
