TERRYVILLE – Rep. Joe Hoxha, R-78th, recently attended Fisher Elementary School for Read Across
America Week, which is an opportunity to promote literacy and reading within local schools.
Rep. Hoxha read “Horton Hears a Who!” by Dr. Seuss to a fourth-grade class and engaged in questions with the class during the reading.
The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading.
Dr. Seuss’ birthday was March 2 and was declared Read Across America Day, which kicks off Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.
