HARTFORD – As the 2024 Legislative Session entered the final days at the Capitol, Rep. Joe Hoxha, R-Bristol, co-sponsored several bills, which have gained passage in the House, including HB 5491.

Veterans have sacrificed for our freedoms and in some cases they have become permanently disabled in defense of our country. That’s why Rep. Hoxha felt it was important to co-sponsor HB 5491, legislation which establishes a 100% exemption of property tax or motor vehicle tax to veterans who have a total and permanent disability.

Rep. Hoxha voted in support of legislation that would allow municipal Police or Fire Chiefs to declare that a police officer or uniformed paid or volunteer firefighter died in the line of duty if the death was caused by a cardiac event, stroke, or pulmonary embolism within 24 hours after their shift or training ends.
