Hartford, Conn. — Connecticut’s largest business organization recognized State Representative Martin Foncello (R-107) with a perfect voting score on key bills impacting Connecticut’s economic growth and business climate during the 2025 legislative session.
The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranked all state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions on 12 important policies. The bills all affect job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.
"Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and I'm proud that Brookfield, Bethel, and Newtown are also home to larger corporations. I will continue to advocate for these economic drivers in our state and am proud that my record reflects my votes on policies that help this sector thrive," said Rep. Foncello.
In addition to supporting various legislation to help make Connecticut more business friendly, Rep. Foncello also co-sponsored bills during the recently completed session to allow certain skilled trade licensees to deviate from the skilled trade hiring ratios.
"I will continue working to make Connecticut more affordable for businesses and families. My priorities include lowering energy costs, reducing taxes and eliminating fees. Too many Connecticut residents and businesses are being forced to make difficult decisions when they try to balance their books because of the high cost of living and doing business here," added Foncello.
The scorecard was calculated using 12 key bills and may reflect votes from committee, the House, or both. The complete CBIA legislative scorecard can be viewed at cbia.com.
