Kimberly-Clark produces tissue and other hygiene products, with the facility in Connecticut producing nearly one million cartons of Kleenex® Facial Tissue per day. The facility in New Milford employs over 350 people, with the majority living in the greater New Milford/Danbury area. About one third of the workforce lives directly in New Milford.

“Kimberly-Clark is an important employer in our region. I’m thankful to be able to learn first-hand about their operations and the role they play in the community,” said Rep. Foncello.

In 2008, the New Milford plant started up its Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility in order to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of electricity and steam. This on-site energy plant is highly efficient and essential to the cost-effective production of tissue on a 24-7-365 basis.  The company encouraged the visiting legislators to do what they can to help ensure reliable and affordable energy supply in Connecticut.
