Bethel– The Connecticut Department of Transportation is developing plans to upgrade existing traffic control signal equipment or install new traffic control signal equipment to meet current Department standards at 14 locations, including in Bethel.

At applicable locations, pedestrian control features (countdown pedestrian indications, accessible pushbuttons, sidewalk ramps) will be upgraded in an effort to improve accessibility and pedestrian safety. CTDOT will coordinate with the municipality during the design phase.

    The following intersections are included:

Traffic Control Signal – Full Replacement:

    ·        Bethel, U.S. Route 6 at Garella Road & 7-11 Driveway

    ·        Seymour, Route 67 at Cogwheel Lane

Traffic Control Signal – Partial Replacement (all equipment except support structures):

    ·        Watertown, U.S. Route 6 at Route 262 & Fern Hill Road
