HARTFORD — State Representative Martin Foncello (R-107) was sworn in at the State Capitol in Hartford Wednesday. Foncello says he is ready to get back to work for the residents of Brookfield, Bethel, and Newtown in his second term in office.

For the 2025-2026 session, House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora appointed Rep. Foncello to serve as a member of the Appropriations Committee, Education Committee, and the Government Administration & Elections Committee.  Previously, he served on the Aging Committee.

“I am humbled by the trust the people of the 107th District have placed in me to be their voice in Hartford. I look forward to making sure our towns get their share of school funding, working to address the cost of energy and the security of our elections,” said Rep. Foncello.

After being sworn-in, legislators acted on the General Assembly’s operating rules for the upcoming year. Foncello voted in favor of the new rules, which were approved by the House of Representatives in its first order of business of the new session.

As the legislative session at the Capitol gets under way, Rep. Foncello encourages his constituents to keep in touch by calling his office at (800) 842-1423 (toll-free) or by writing him an email at Martin.Foncello@housegop.ct.gov.

The session is scheduled to run until June 4th.
