Rep. Foncello Celebrates Agriculture Day at the State Capitol

State Representative Martin Foncello (R-107) met up with constituents at the State Capitol for Agriculture Day.
“Bonnie Burr, with the UConn Department of Extension in the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources, was on hand. It was also good to see Heather Peracchio, who is Assistant Extension Educator at the UConn Extension site on Stony Hill Road in Bethel. John Voket, Newtown Economic Development Director, was presented with an Ag Journalism Award during the event as well. He did an audio broadcast for Connoisseur Media, a special report called Homegrown By Heroes – Farmers Market about CT Veteran farmers,” said Rep. Foncello.
Known colloquially around the complex as “Ag Day” it is an annual tradition hosted by the State Department of Agriculture at the State Capitol that brings together farmers, Vo-Ag students, agricultural non-profits, and federal and state agencies to put up displays in the Capitol building highlighting their work.
