As we mourn his passing, please continue to take all precautions to limit the spread of this deadly virus.

As of 5:00 p.m. tonight – Thursday, March 19th – the state has diagnosed a total of 159 cases of Coronavirus.

The governor issued another executive order – Executive Order No. 7G – which expands recent state-mandated temporary business closures to include barbershops, hair salons, tattoo or piercing parlors, and related businesses effective at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020.

The order also reschedules the state’s Presidential Primary originally scheduled for April 28 to June 2, and provide clearance for restaurants, bars, and private clubs to sell sealed containers of alcoholic beverages to be consumed off-premise provided those sales accompany take-out food orders. Businesses that manufacture and sell sealed alcoholic beverages will be able to continue to do so on a take-out basis.

Earlier today, Governor Lamont applauded the announcement that The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine (JAX-GM) will begin providing coronavirus diagnostic testing for Connecticut residents. According to the release, JAX-GM is partnering with the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), UConn Health, and Hartford HealthCare to provide the state with significant additional coronavirus diagnostic testing capacity.
