    Upcoming Closure Schedule for Route 150 Bridge

    In order to facilitate ongoing construction of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line, there will be two closures of the Route 150 bridge located between Main Street in Wallingford and South Broad Street in Meriden. 

     

    The bridge and road will be closed between Monday, May 22nd and Thursday, May 25th. It will be open from May 26th through Tuesday, May 30th for Memorial Day weekend traffic. The road and bridge will also be closed from Tuesday, May 30th through Sunday, June 11th.

    If you need to traverse the area please be aware of the closure, detours and potential delays on area roadways.

    Construction Update: Town of Wallingford

    May – June 2017

     

    The Route 150 Bridge, located between Main Street and South Broad Street in Wallingford will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic during two separate closures in May and June.

     

    The first closure will begin on Monday, May 22nd at 12:01 a.m. and continue through Thursday, May 25th at 11:59 p.m. The road will re-open on Friday, May 26th at 12:00 a.m. and remain open through Tuesday, May 30th at 6:00 p.m. for Memorial Day weekend traffic. The second closure will begin on Tuesday, May 30th at 6:01 p.m. and continue through Sunday, June 11th at 11:59 p.m.

     

    The work will include, but not limited to, installation and repairs of supporting bridge structures, such as retaining walls and joints, as well as preparation of the rail bed for the new track.

     

    Signs, variable message boards and detour routes alerting the public of the closure will be posted on-site prior to the closure.

     

    Businesses and residents in the surrounding area should expect construction noise throughout this period and temporary lighting to support overnight work in the area.

    This work is part of the overall upgrade of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line – now branded as the CTrail Hartford Line – scheduled to begin expanded service in 2018.
