Rep. Fishbein Honors Women’s History Month, Essay Contest Winners

In honor of Women’s History Month, State Representatives Craig Fishbein and Lezlye Zupkus hosted an essay contest for all Cheshire 6th graders with the theme, “How a Connecticut Woman Made a Contribution to the State and/or Nation and How it Has Influenced Me.” A winner was selected from each school and presented with an official state citation and pin. The overall winner was selected by the Superintendent’s Office and presented with a citation and a Connecticut state flag that was flown over the state capitol in Hartford.
The winners, and who they profiled, are:
Highland Elementary School – Molly Scandrett / Louise Farnam
Norton School – Maya Raccio / Ella T. Grasso
Doolittle Elementary – Haley Shaw / Rebecca Lobo”
Chapman Elementary – Ryan Kilpatrick / Rebecca Timlin-Scalera
