Rep. Fishbein Honors Women’s History Month, Essay Contest Winners

In honor of Women’s History Month, State Representatives Craig Fishbein and Lezlye Zupkus hosted an essay contest for all Cheshire 6^th graders with the theme, “How a Connecticut Woman Made a Contribution to the State and/or Nation and How it Has Influenced Me.” A winner was selected from each school and presented with an official state citation and pin. The overall winner was selected by the Superintendent’s Office and presented with a citation and a Connecticut state flag that was flown over the state capitol in Hartford.

The winners, and who they profiled, are:

Highland Elementary School – Molly Scandrett / Louise Farnam
Norton School – Maya Raccio / Ella T. Grasso
Doolittle Elementary – Haley Shaw / Rebecca Lobo”
Chapman Elementary – Ryan Kilpatrick / Rebecca Timlin-Scalera
