State Representative Craig Fishbein (R-90) last night congratulated Korean War-era veteran, and former state representative, Al Adinolfi on his induction into the 2017 class of the Connecticut State Veterans Hall of Fame.

Adinolfi, a Connecticut resident since 1968, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 18 and served with the Tactical Air Command at Camp Edwards in Massachusetts.  He was honorably discharged and moved to Connecticut, then Cheshire in 1979 where he chose to continue his work on behalf of others by entering politics, first at the local level and then as state representative. Adinolfi served on Cheshire’s Wetlands Commission and as a Cheshire Town Councilor. He served as state representative three times between 1998 and 2017.

“Representative Adinolfi has been a stalwart advocate on behalf of veterans across our state for decades, and he is most deserving on this honor,” Rep. Fishbein said. “I’ve had the good fortune to know Al for many years and his enthusiasm and commitment to helping veterans is unmatched. Each of the honorees tonight deserves our deep respect and congratulations for helping to make Connecticut a better place.”

The 2017 class of the Connecticut State Veterans Hall of Fame includes 11 members from the Army, Navy, Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. According to the Hall of Fame Committee, veterans who served their country honorably during their military service, and who continue to serve their communities, state and nation after discharge are eligible.  This year, there were 63 nominees. The first class was inducted in 2005.

Prior to the start of the ceremony, Rep. Fishbein presented Adinolfi with an official state citation congratulating him on induction into the Connecticut State Veterans Hall of Fame.
