Rep. Fishbein Co-Hosts Successful Cheshire Town Hall

State Representatives Craig Fishbein and Lezlye Zupkus, and State Senator Joe Markley, held a successful town hall in Cheshire on Monday evening where more than 2 dozen residents stopped by to listen to updates on the current legislative session and to discuss important issues regarding state government.

The state’s current budget deficit – projected to be $3.7 billion over the next two years – took up most of the conversation, but other topics, including jobs, manufacturing, taxes and proposed cuts to education and hospital funding, were also discussed at length. During the event, the legislators reaffirmed their commitment to finding fiscally-responsible and sustainable ways to close the budget deficit.

The town hall was held at the Cheshire Senior Center on Maple Ave.
