State Rep. Craig Fishbein recently joined Mayor Cervoni, Rep. Mushinsky, Town Councilors Joe Marrone, Jesse Reynolds, Autumn Allinson, Christopher Regan, and Board of Education members Caroline Raynis, Rajan Doering, and Melanie Rossacci at the Boys and Girls Club Ulbrich Clubhouse on Grand Street for an open house, and the unveiling of their new Exergame Fitness system.

Several middle school students took the dignitaries on tours of the facility, explaining the programs and showing off the latest technology, including the new game system that combines physical and intellectual efforts in order to operate. There are several fitness and gaming systems and programs at the Clubhouse, from the classic “Dance Dance Revolution,” to the iWall 3.0 (similar to a Nintendo Wii), to a stationary bike that must be pedaled to power video games to the multi-game Exergame wall.

The funding for the Exergame Fitness system was part of larger federal ARPA spending, according to Wallingford Economic Development Specialist Don Crouch.

Despite giving it his best, Rep. Fishbein was unable to beat seven-year-old Willow Fahy during a dance off on the iWall 3.0.
