With virus numbers rising and hotspots developing in some areas of the state, I want you to know that the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) now issues weekly updates to the Town Level Alert Map to show the average daily rate of COVID-19 cases throughout the state.

This tool provides you with information regarding those areas of the state that are experiencing rising COVID cases and provides you with guidance to deal with these changing situations.

As of today, October 29, Wallingford is listed in the “orange” category, while Cheshire remains in the “yellow” category.

The current list of municipalities that are in the higher red-level alert category this week are: Norwalk, Stamford, North Canaan, Danbury, Bridgeport, Ansonia, Waterbury, Watertown, Middlebury, Wolcott, Hartford, East Hartford, New Britain, Cromwell, Middlefield, Ellington, Old Saybrook, Killingly, Plainfield, Canterbury, Windham , Franklin, Sprague, Norwich, Lisbon, Griswold, Montville, Waterford, and Groton.

More information can be found at: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/COVID-19-Data-Tracker

Please continue to abide by social distancing guidelines, wear a mask, wash your hands and disinfect surfaces frequently. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has more information.

If you visit or have friends or family in a “hotspot,” I hope you will find this information useful.
