    Clean Air? Dirty Conscience.

Connecticut Democrats pushing to ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles by 2035 claim positive environmental impacts of using electric vehicles, including cleaner air.

However, as they demonize the current auto industry as outdated and polluting, they fail to consider the true impacts a radical shift to all electric vehicles will have on our world, including the brutal environmental destruction from mining cobalt and lithium.  On top of that, those markets are dominated by countries with woefully horrific human rights records, and even open antagonism toward the United States.

Our energy independence is too important to leave in the hands of unfriendly nations.

The legislature’s Regulations Review Committee, of which I am a member, will be taking up this issue on November 28th. I encourage you to contact Democrats who serve on the Committee, and urge them to disapprove the ban, sending the matter to the full legislature for debate and vote.

The email addresses for each committee member can be found at: https://www.cga.ct.gov/rr/
