Rep. Tom Delnicki Congratulates Scholarship Recipients

HARTFORD – State Representative Tom Delnicki (R-South Windsor) congratulated South Windsor High School students Enuma Mokel and Joseph C. Howell for their hard work and for earning a scholarship to help offset the cost of their continued education.
Both students were awarded $2,000 from Cox Communications during the annual presentation of the Cox Scholarships at the Capitol. Each year, eight students are presented with scholarships.

“These South Windsor students and their families should be very proud of their efforts and achievement of winning these well-deserved scholarships. I join in congratulating and wishing them all the best as they tackle challenges and pursue higher education. A big thank you to Cox Communications as well for their generosity and commitment to our community,” said Rep. Delnicki.

The $2,000 Cox Scholarships have been awarded to eight students per year for more than a decade.
This year, more than 25 students applied. According to a spokesman from Cox Communication, applications are evaluated for academic excellence, community involvement and the students’ desire to pursue a degree in communications, telecommunications, technology or engineering.
