Rep. Delnicki Reappointed Ranking Member of the Legislature’s Banking Committee

On Friday, December 4, 2020, State Representative Tom Delnicki was reappointed the leading House Republican lawmaker on the legislature’s Banking Committee.
Delnicki, recently elected to his second term as state representative of the 14th General Assembly District will once again serve on the Insurance and Real Estate Committee and the Planning and Development Committee. His responsibilities in these committees begin at the start of the next legislative session on January 6, 2021.
According to the Connecticut General Assembly, “The Banking Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Banking, and banks, savings banks, bank and trust companies, savings and loan associations, credit unions, the supervision of the sale of securities, fraternal benefit societies and secured and unsecured lending.”
“Anyone who knows Tom is well aware of his deep commitment to public service, and over the years, while working in local government, he’s developed an enviable ability to unfurl complex issues and pinpoint their impact on the people he serves. It’s a skill that’s served him well on the Banks Committee, where he’s been a dependable voice for our caucus and, more important, Connecticut residents,” said State Representative and House Republican Leader-elect Vincent Candelora.
“I am very much looking forward to working together with members of the Banking Committee so that we can help folks and small businesses put their lives back together once we are past this COVID-19 global pandemic,” said State Representative Tom Delnicki. “As Ranking Member, I plan to focus on the crumbing foundations issue, first time homebuyers’ program for college graduates, and other pertinent issues that may arise. If you have any ideas for legislation, please feel free to contact me with your thoughts.”
The Insurance and Real Estate Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to insurance law and real estate law.
The Planning and Development Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to local governments, housing, urban renewal, fire, sewer and metropolitan districts, home rule and planning and zoning; regional planning and development activities and the State Plan of Conservation and Development, and economic development programs impacting local governments.
“I look forward to yet again serving on committees that I feel passionately about. It is also a great honor to be given the opportunity to represent the good people of South Windsor, and I thank them for that,” added State Representative Tom Delnicki.
