Rep. Delnicki Opposes Proposed Health Insurance Rate Hikes

HARTFORD- State Rep. Tom Delnicki (R-14) today slammed a proposed health insurance rate hike for the 2023 individual and small group markets, which include proposed rate increases averaging over 20%.

“This proposed rate increase is just another financial hit to South Windsor families. As inflation extents to over nine per-cent (9.1%), leading to higher prices on every good and service we purchase, the last bit of news families need to hear is that their health insurance in going to rise by 20%.”

Rep. Delnicki, who has testified against these proposed rate hikes going back to 2018 on behalf of South Windsor residents, is also joining the call for a public hearing at the State Capitol.

“I want to hear from these insurance executives. They owe us answers. And I also want to hear from affected Connecticut residents on how these hikes will impact working families, said Rep. Delnicki, who is a member of the legislature’s Insurance and Real Estate Committee.
