HARTFORD –– State Representative Tom Delnicki paid a visit to Wapping Elementary, a school he attended growing up in South Windsor, to celebrate National Education Association’s 20th Read Across America Day on Friday morning.
In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Rep. Delnicki joined in the nationwide celebration by reading classic children’s stories to elementary school students in the 14th District.
Before his visit concluded, Rep. Delnicki spent time with the children discussing his role as their State Representative, the importance of reading, being kind, and his Holiday Light Display.

“I really enjoyed Read Across America Day,” Rep. Delnicki said. “Most of all, I was so impressed by the level of excitement the children had towards reading and learning. The teachers, staff and administrators do a fantastic job of instilling the importance of education, and more specifically a love for reading.”
