    Quarries Working Group Final Report

    Quarries Working Group Final Report
This article was archived from the previous WordPress site. Formatting and media should be close, but may not match the original post perfectly.

As part of Public Act 19-192 “An Act Concerning Crumbling Foundations,” a legislative working group was established to, “…develop a model quality control plan for quarries and to study the workforce of contractors engaged in the repair and replacement of concrete foundations that have deteriorated due to the presence of pyrrhotite.”

Last week the working group concluded their work and issued a final report to the General Assembly. I would like to acknowledge the group for producing a final report ahead of schedule, as well as Debbie MacCoy, a former member of the working group for providing a guide for homeowners.

As Co-Chair of the Crumbling Foundation Caucus, I attended every meeting of the working group. I have made comments when necessary and was pleased by the work carried out. As the 2020 legislative session convenes in February I will continue to advocate for necessary reforms and measurers to assist homeowners.
