State Representative Tom Delnicki (R-South Windsor) and State Representative Geoff Luxenberg (D-Manchester) convened their first meeting of the bipartisan Crumbling Foundations Caucus on February 13 at the state capitol.

“I look forward to working with my co-chair Rep. Luxenberg. His first-hand knowledge of this issue is invaluable and I know we all, every member of the caucus, share a commitment to the people that are victims of this issue. I continue my commitment to working with everyone involved on bringing this to a successful resolution,” Rep. Delnicki.

“I was honored to be chosen by my colleagues to chair this new caucus with Rep. Delnicki and we had a very productive first meeting,” said Rep. Luxenberg. “There was a tremendous amount of bipartisan consensus and collaboration, as well as optimism, on a variety of legislative proposals which if they become law will really make a difference for families that are impacted by this crisis.”

The caucus is working in conjunction with the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company – a captive insurer designed to help rebuild foundations containing the mineral pyrrhotite that causes concrete to deteriorate and/or crumble over time.

Several proposed bills on the crumbling concrete issue are expected to come up for public hearings in the coming weeks. Make your opinion count by testifying in person or submitting written material.
