During a special meeting on Friday, July 23rd , the State Bond Commission approved funding for the Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund (CFAF). The CFAF fund will receive $20,000,000 for Fiscal Year 2022.

The Chairs of the Crumbling Foundation Caucus – state Representatives Jaime Foster (D- East Windsor, Ellington), and Tom Delnicki (R- South Windsor) from the Connecticut House of Representatives, and state Senator Saud Anwar (D-3rd District) from the Connecticut Senate – are thrilled by the commission’s decision.

“I am proud to advocate for such an important project. The funding awarded today is an important first step in our efforts to provide assistance to homeowners with crumbling foundations,” said Rep. Foster. “Although crumbling foundations has been a state-wide problem, East Windsor and Ellington were among the towns that were hit the hardest. As co-chair of the Crumbling Foundations Caucus, I pushed for legislation that would provide relief to the impacted homeowners and create provisions that will prevent crumbling foundations from becoming an issue once again. I’d like to thank Governor Lamont and the State Bond Commission for their support. This is an excellent stepping stone and I hope my fellow caucus members and I can build upon our success during 2022.”

“It’s hard to overstate how important the continued funding of the Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund will be for hundreds of homeowners and families statewide and in our region,” said Sen. Anwar. “This fund continues to be vitally important for the repairs and renovations necessary to help these homeowners recover from this tragic disaster.”

“I am delighted to see the Bonding Commission and the Governor authorize another 20 million dollars that will go to help people put their lives and their foundations for their homes back together,” said Rep. Delnicki.

The Special Meeting of the State Bond Commission was held July 23 at 10:30 am.
