State Representative Anne Dauphinais Stands for Local Control

During Wednesday's Special Session, I voted against HB 8002. It passed the House 90–56. The bill largely mirrors HB 5002, which the Governor vetoed earlier this year. HB 8002 retains a “Fair Share” framework that assigns housing-unit targets to municipalities and includes state preemptions that reduce local planning and zoning authority. I strongly oppose shifting more power away from local communities.
