HARTFORD – State Representative Tina Courpas recently testified before the General Law Committee in favor of legislation that would lower costs for certain professional fees.
Rep. Courpas spoke in support of S.B. 611, a bill that would lower professional fees to $100 per year across a host of professions, taking excessive fees off the backs of businesses and individuals.
For example, Connecticut charges its CPAs $565/year for their annual license renewal. Other states charge $183 (NH), $97 (NY) and $45 (NJ).
Connecticut has to lower taxes and fees to put money back into working citizens’ pockets, and send the message that CT is open for business, according to Rep. Courpas.
