DANBURY- State Representative Holly Cheeseman (R-37) along with other state lawmakers on Friday toured Cadenza Innovation in Danbury. Company founder and CEO Maria Christina Lampe-Önnerud is a Swedish inorganic chemist, battery-inventor, and entrepreneur.

NEWINGTON- Tuesday, State Rep. Holly Cheeseman (R-37) had the opportunity to stop by the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (ConnDOT) Open House for legislators and staff to learn more about their operations, projects, and initiatives across the state at their Newington DOT Headquarters.

The DOT oversees a range of areas from highway maintenance to our public transit systems, to project engineering and development across the entire state.

HARTFORD- State Rep. Holly Cheeseman (R-37) today announced that the State has awarded two Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grants one each to East Lyme and Salem for the continued improvement of local roadway infrastructure and repairs to the Town Hall.

East Lyme is slated to receive $500,000 in state funding for the renovation and construction Plants Dam. This will be matched by $137,900 in town funds.

Beginning on December 1, 2023, a new electric bill discount will be available to you if you have a financial hardship status on your electric account. Based on your household income or receipt of a public assistance benefit, you may be eligible for a 10% or 50% discount on your electric bill per month. For example, if you have a $100 monthly bill, it would be $10 less if you receive a 10% discount or $50 less if you receive the 50% discount.

All Connecticut Residents Can Sign Up for the Free Discount Card To Receive Savings on Medication

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a series of public information meetings to review the findings of the Eastern Connecticut Corridor Rail and Transit Feasibility Study.

The application period for the 2023-2024 winter season of the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) will begin on September 1, 2023. The program helps Connecticut residents – including both homeowners and renters – with the costs associated with heating their homes.

Basic benefits toward heating bills range from $180 to $530 depending on income, size of household, and need. Benefits are available for households with incomes up to 60% of the state median income, which equates to roughly $79,910

On Monday, I supported the 2023-2024 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) allocation plan to provide much needed energy assistance to low-income families who might struggle to heat their homes this winter.

This year, the state’s most vulnerable residents will receive a basic benefit of $530 and families will be eligible for two crisis benefits of $410.
