WINSTED – The former Winsted Centerless Company at 10 Bridge Street has been chosen to receive a Brownfield Remediation grant of $128,500, according to a recent announcement from the governor’s office. This grant is part of a larger initiative covering 21 additional properties in various cities and towns throughout Connecticut.
According to the announcement, funding was released through the state’s Brownfield Remediation and Development Program.
“I applaud the governor’s announcement of a round of state funding allocated toward remediating existing brownfields. The former Winsted Centerless Company property at 10 Bridge Street was chosen as a site to receive state grant money. $128,500 will be allocated to revamp the property with the goal of delivering a mixed-use development, while making environmental safety improvements. This is an important piece in maintaining and revitalizing Winsted’s downtown,” said Rep. Case.
