TORRINGTON — Delegates throughout northwest Connecticut met with leaders of the Litchfield County Farm Bureau and the Litchfield County Dairy Committee on Thursday to discuss the upcoming legislative session and its impact on local farmers.
Joining the farmers and young members of the Future Farmers of America from different area schools were State Sens. Clark Chapin and Kevin Witkos, along with State Reps. Cecilia Buck-Taylor and Jay Case.
“We enjoyed meeting and hearing from our farming constituents,” said State Rep. Jay Case (R-Winchester). “My family history includes dairy farmers from Colebrook, so I can understand what our locals farmers are going through. The discussions we engaged in were both informative and challenging – and I’m proud to represent farmers in the 63rd district.”
Rep. Case’s district includes Colebrook, Goshen, Torrington and Winchester, and he sits on the Human Services, Appropriations, Energy and Environment committees in the General Assembly.
