Domestic Abuse Month and Mayor farewell - 100113_2089
    TORRINGTON —
Rep. Jay Case (R-63) was in attendance as the city of Torrington and former Mayor Ryan Bingham marked the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The city has proclaimed October Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will hold three events in the city during the month to help bring public awareness to domestic violence.

“This proclamation would never have been accomplished without the hard work of former Mayor Ryan Bingham and the Susan B. Anthony Project,” Rep. Case said. “The Susan B. Anthony Project is a wonderful organization that does great work to prevent and help victims of domestic violence. They and all other organizations like them should be applauded for their outstanding efforts.”

The Susan B. Anthony Project has been in existence since 1983 and promotes safety, healing and growth for all survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. The group works to bring awareness to domestic violence and help to the victims.

If you are a victim or in danger of domestic violence you can call the state hotline at 1-888-774-2900. For more information on the Susan B. Anthony Project and their work please visit http://www.sbaproject.org/.
