Winsted – The Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA) recognized State Rep. Jay Case (R-Winsted) and presented him with the organization’s legislative advocacy award for his service in the 2020 regular and special sessions. The CPMA is an organization comprised of many of the state’s Doctors of Podiatric Medicine.
“The impact of COVID-19 has been the medical community’s greatest hurdle since the outbreak of the virus, but our state’s podiatrists have really stepped up to the plate to continue to provide the highest level of care to their patients,” explained Rep. Jay Case, who continues to be a leading advocate for greater access of health services. “As legislators it is our job to work with the individuals who deliver critical health services and I will always support sound public policy that preserves the ability for residents across the state to access healthcare.”
The CPMA noted that Rep. Case had earned the achievement by his unwavering support of health inequity fee parity legislation. Earlier in the year, Case supported a measure that increased coverage of telehealth services, which provided greater safety to the state’s podiatrists and their patients.
