WINSTED – State Representative Jay Case (R-Winsted) attended the grand opening of Hartford HealthCare and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital’s newest HealthCenter. The facility is located at the junction of Routes 8 and 44, making it a viable option for residents in surrounding towns. The facility will provide a myriad of health services including a fully operational Emergency Department, and Quest Laboratory services.

The facility will also features a state of the art landing pad for LIFE STAR – a critical care helicopter service which responds to and provides air transport for a variety of patients who require care at a tertiary care facility.

Case, the Ranking Member of the legislature’s Human Services Committee, has been a long-term advocate of connecting Connecticut residents – especially those in more rural areas of the state – with quality healthcare services. Case noted that the opening of this facility provides a more convenient pathway for residents of the Northwest Corner to better access critical health services.
