Rep. Case joins in Girl Scout Day at the State Capitol

HARTFORD – State Rep. Jay Case, R-63, joined in Girl Scout Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, meeting with local Girl Scouts about the issues they feel are most important to girls across the state.
“It was the largest group ever to visit the Capitol to date, with over 200 Girl Scouts, and I am proud to support any and all programs that teach our young students by having role models behind them,” said Rep. Case, a member of the legislature’s Human Services, Appropriations, Energy & Technology and Environment committees. “I am honored to be with this bi-partisan group of legislatures to show support.”
The event’s speakers included Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, State Rep. Michelle Cook (D-65), State Rep. Noreen Kokoruda (R-101), and Girl Scouts of Connecticut CEO Mary Barneby. Following a press conference was a pinning ceremony to recognize new and returning members of the Honorary Girl Scout Troop at the Capitol. This group of bi-partisan policymakers forms an honorary Girl Scout troop that is committed to advancing critical issues for girls and women of Connecticut.
Girl Scout Day at the Capitol gives Girl Scouts throughout Connecticut a chance to meet one-on-one with legislators to learn more about our democratic process, and to highlight the important initiatives that 47,300 Girl Scouts and more than 19,000 Girl Scout volunteers find critical in every community across the state.
