Rep. Case joins Chamber on CBIA Business Day

HARTFORD – Delegates from the Connecticut House Republican caucus met with business community leaders from the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, during the annual Business Day at the State Capitol.
Business Day, which is organized by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, allows lawmakers to meet directly with business owners, managers and other employers in the state to discuss upcoming legislation and issues facing the legislature. Business leaders had the opportunity to ask questions of prominent state officials, like the governor and leaders of the different House and Senate caucuses.
“I learned a lot from meeting with the Chamber and different business leaders in the northwest corner,” State Rep. Jay Case, R-Winchester, said. Rep. Case, a member of the Human Services, Appropriations, Energy & Technology, and Environment communities, celebrated his first business day Wednesday. “The goal this year in Hartford is to ensure we establish a business-friendly environment in the state. For too long, the local businesses have suffered. Today represents an opportunity to act on behalf of these local businesses and encourage their growth.”
“I was grateful to hear the governor, the House and Senate leaders, and our northwest Connecticut delegation. The day was informative, yet sobering considering all the challenges we face,” Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce President and CEO JoAnn Ryan said.
