Torrington – It was an honor to stand alongside Mayor Elinor Carbone, Senator Stephen Harding, Representative Joe Canino, and other local officials as we recognized Fire Chief Eric Borden for his remarkable contributions to the City of Torrington.
Chief Borden officially retired on July 4th, capping off an impressive 25-year career in the fire service. For the past three years, he has led the Torrington Fire Department with unwavering commitment, courage, and integrity. His leadership has not only strengthened our emergency response capabilities but has also left a lasting impression on the community he served so selflessly.
Throughout his career, Chief Borden has embodied the very best of public service — protecting lives, mentoring future leaders, and ensuring the safety of our neighborhoods. His dedication has made Torrington a stronger, safer place for all of us.
“Thank you, Chief Borden, for your years of service and for the positive impact you’ve made. We wish you nothing but happiness and fulfillment in your well-earned retirement,” said Rep. Jay Case.
