    DOT Road Work, Route 4 in Torrington

    The Department of Transportation will be starting construction  on Route 4 in Torrington. The DOT will be replacing a culvert and the replacement is expected to take place from Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2.

    If your travels require you to take this route, please allow extra time for changing traffic patterns and delays.

    Lane Closures:

    Motorists can expect lane closures on Rt. 4 (East Elm St.) from Brightwood Ave. to Brook St. eastbound and westbound. The road will be closed and traffic will be detoured on Wednesday, September 30. Expect intermittent traffic disruptions on Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2.

    Detour Information:

    Eastbound: Right onto Main St., left onto East Main St., left onto Christopher St.

    Westbound: Left onto Columbus St., right onto East Main St., right onto Main St.

    Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
