The DOT will be conducting a Public Informational Meeting regarding the proposed replacement of the bridge carrying Rowley Street over the Mad River in Winchester. The bridge is in declining condition, as it was originally constructed over 90 years ago in 1928, which is why the department is going the process of replacing it.
The meeting will take place at Winchester Town Hall on Tuesday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. There will be a formal presentation and time for the public to ask questions about the project.
Construction on the project, however, is not expected to start until spring of 2022.
Plans of the proposed project will be on display for public review. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project. More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Anyone wishing to discuss the project may contact Bryan H. Reed at (860) 594-3418 or by email Bryan.Reed@ct.gov.
