HARTFORD – State Representative Jay Case (R-63) participated in the CT Energy Marketers Association (CEMA) legislative reception at the Capitol on Thursday morning. The CEMA presented information on BioHeat as an affordable energy option and spent time setting up meetings with individual legislators to talk about the benefits of home heating oil.

“We came today to educate our elected officials on the exciting changes in heating fuel and how BioHeat is the future of Connecticut,” stated CEMA Board Chairman and President of Wesson Energy, Craig Snyder.

According to CEMA oil is trending to be cleaner than natural gas, as result of the methane’s potency of CO2 content. Furthermore, CEMA argues that home heating oil has proven to be more reliable pointing to failed natural gas infrastructure.

“In today’s economy it’s important for the consumer to understand the energy market in order to make an educated decision on what energy source best suits their needs,” stated Rep. Case, “CEMA is doing a fantastic job of presenting facts to the legislature that shed light on how home heating oil is a more affordable choice, often conversion costs are not recuperated by the consumer.”
