Case congratulates Goshen Stampede on tourism grant

GOSHEN – Good, rural Connecticut fun received a financial boost today from the Department of Economic and Community Development and the Connecticut Office of Tourism, which should only benefit state Rep. Jay Case’s 63rd Assembly District and the surrounding northwest corner communities.
The Goshen Stampede, a nonprofit organization that hosts rodeos, demolition derbies, petting zoos, truck pull and music events, received $10,000 from the state Marketing Challenge Grant – a one-to-one matching grant. The grant program creates a partnership between COT and its constituents, supports promotion of product development and extends statewide strategic marketing efforts.
“The Goshen Stampede brings people from near and far into our corner of the state and with them, their economic-driving dollars,” Case said. “This investment into our community – and our dollars finally coming back to our part of the state – deserves applause. Here’s to more years of successful Goshen Stampede events and good, rural Connecticut fun.”
The Goshen Stampede was one of 19 nonprofit organizations throughout the state that received between $7,500 to $30,000 in matching grant funding. Fourteen different towns saw the money, which totaled $298,575.
