Winsted – State Representative Jay Case attended the official groundbreaking of Joyner Health Science Center on the campus of Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC) on Thursday morning.

The project includes a larger 24,400 square foot structure with increased workspace and technology for NCCC’s Healthcare students and enrollees of Veterinary Technician program, the only program of its kind offered in the state of Connecticut. Construction also includes the total demolition of the existing structure, as well as the installation of an additional parking lot. The project is scheduled to be completed for June 2017.
NCCC was founded in 1965, according to the college currently 1,500 students are enrolled.
