Carpino Tour Carey Manufacturing

On Tuesday, State Rep. Christie Carpino had the chance to join the State Comptroller Sean Scanlon and the President and CEO of the Connecticut Business Industry Association (CBIA) Chris DiPentima highlight Carey Manufacturing right here in Cromwell — a local success story operation that shows what Connecticut ingenuity looks like. The group were there to shine a light on something folks sometimes forget: our manufacturers are the backbone of this state.
Carey Manufacturing builds catches, latches, and handles — the kind of precision parts that keep the world connected — and they do it all from their 30,000-square-foot shop right here in town. No outsourcing, no cutting corners — just good, honest work done by skilled people who take pride in what they make.
At the event, officials talked about how companies like Carey don’t just build parts — they build paychecks, pride, and opportunity. According CBIA, there are about 4,600 manufacturers across Connecticut, employing more than 150,000 of our neighbors. That’s a lot of folks rolling up their sleeves every day to keep our economy moving.
I’m proud to stand with the men and women who make and build things here in Connecticut. Let’s keep making Connecticut a place where hard work is respected, and where businesses like Carey Manufacturing can grow, hire, and thrive."
