Bill to Increase Access to Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses Goes Into Effect

A bill I supported will permit Connecticut to now gain access a more robust workforce, address possible staffing shortages, and increase patient access to care thanks to Public Act 24-83.

Under this law, Connecticut joins the Nurse Licensure Compact, allowing Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses whose primary state address is Connecticut to obtain a multistate license from the 43 other states and territories participating in the compact. This law went into effect on October 1st of this year.
