HARTFORD — House Republican Leader-elect Vincent Candelora (R-North Branford) on Friday made the following statement regarding Gov. Lamont’s decision to appoint Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton as commissioner of the state’s Department of Revenue Services. "Assuming the heavy responsibility of collecting Connecticut’s taxes after helping to lead the fight to fix the state’s oppressive tax climate would be a difficult transition for most people in the political arena, but over the years Mayor Boughton has proven himself as a skilled public servant. While I welcome Mark in his new role, his appointment will undoubtedly lead to a conversation about our enhanced state pension system benefits that so many of our state employees and elected officials enjoy. I look forward to these discussions about issues that have made our pension fund insolvent."
